As long as your worker has attained the tradesman level, they are eligible to undergo the "Upgrade To Foreman" course. This course only requires them to pass an open book theory test. If they have not attained certification, they need to have at least 6 years of construction experience in Singapore to attend the CoreTrade Trades Foreman course. In this case, the worker will have to attend both the
practical and theory tests.
Yes, for example, a plumber licensed by the Public Utilities Board (PUB) and an electrical worker licensed
by the Energy Market Authority (EMA) will directly qualify to be CoreTrade Trade Foremen in Plumbing
& Piping Works and Electrical Works respectively. They will not be required to take any skills assessment
as they have been previously assessed during the applications for their license. However, they will have
to undergo a bridging seminar at BCA Academy upon registration.
Certain projects require the deployment of Foreman. Workers who are named in the list as Foreman will
only be recognized upon passing out from this course.
No, CoreTrade Foremen are expected to be deployed under Foreman roles only, while supervisors are
expected to attain CoreTrade Supervisor certification.
Yes, the theory training is available in 4 different languages: English, Mandarin, Bengali, and Thai. The
theory test will be open book, and candidates will be taught the syllabus theoretically in their preferred
language.
Yes, candidates are still required to apply for the Acknowledgement Notice ($15). Upon approval, a date will be assigned to the respective worker to attend the theory training and test.
